Ajoissa apua perheväkivaltaan -project (AAP), which is funded by the Slot Machine Association (RAY), focuses on the early warning signs of domestic violence.

AAP is based on a study providing insights into how victims and perpetrators perceive their experiences with domestic violence (both individual and focus group interviews). The purpose of the study is, to some extent, generate potential early warning signs in order to develop better and competent primary (and secondary) prevention and intervention strategies as well as practical tools. Thus cooperation with local authorities and other national key agencies is an essential element of the project.

AAP operates mainly in the Joensuu sub-region, which is a part of the Region of North Karelia (eastern part of Finland).
